2. What these Terms cover
These Terms govern your use of our website at saladology.co.uk and any microsites we operate (the "Site"), including:
- viewing our brand, animations and product information;
- booking a meeting via third-party tools (e.g., Calendly);
- contacting us by email, phone or WhatsApp; and
- (if and when enabled) placing orders for food and related products for collection or delivery.
Where we offer additional services, we may present additional terms. If they conflict, the additional terms prevail to the extent of the conflict.
3. Acceptance of these Terms
By using the Site, you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, you must not use the Site.
4. Other policies that may apply to you
The following also apply to your use of the Site:
- Privacy Policy — explains how we process personal data.
- Cookie Policy — explains our use of cookies/SDKs and your choices.
- Accessibility Statement — how we strive to make the Site usable by everyone.
- Allergen & Food Information — how we present allergen and ingredient information for our products and for distance selling.
Links to these documents are available in the Site footer.
5. Changes to these Terms or to the Site
We may update the Site and these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to our products, technology or applicable laws. We will post the updated Terms with a new "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we may also take reasonable steps to notify you.
6. Your account (if introduced later)
If we offer accounts, you must keep your login details confidential and not share them with anyone. You are responsible for activity under your account unless we are at fault. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
7. Information on the Site (including animations, timelines and 3D assets)
We strive to keep information accurate and up to date, but please note the following:
- Illustrative visuals only. Our 2D/3D animations, renders, maps, walkthroughs and product imagery are artist’s impressions. They may depict conceptual restaurants, packaging, menus, fit‑outs or locations that are not yet built or final. Visuals may not be to scale and may be cinematic (e.g., lighting, textures, motion).
- Roadmap & timelines. Statements about future openings (for example, numbers of locations and areas such as Central London, the City of London or Canary Wharf, and timeframes such as “over the next five years”) are targets only and subject to change. They depend on factors outside our control, including planning and licensing approvals, landlord negotiations, financing, contractor availability, supply‑chain conditions, technology readiness and regulatory requirements.
- No commitment or guarantee. Unless we expressly confirm in writing (for example, in a signed contract or an order confirmation), nothing on the Site is a promise that a specific site will open, a product will be available, a feature will launch, or a timeline will be met.
- Maps & counts. Maps and numerical counts (e.g., “8 locations”) are approximate and for orientation only. Boundaries and labels are indicative.
- Music & third‑party content. Any music, fonts, footage or other third‑party assets in our media are used under licence or under applicable exceptions. They may be replaced in production.
- Nutrition & allergens. Ingredients, recipes and sourcing vary seasonally. Nutritional values and allergen information may change. Always check the latest information at point of order and speak to our team if you have allergies or intolerances (see Section 13).
- Smart farms: size, capacity and specifications. Any references to farm size (for example, gross floor area, grow area in m², number of racks/layers), production capacity (for example, kg per day/week, units per annum), crop cycles, yields, automation level, robotics, lighting or irrigation specifications, energy mix, water use or CO₂ usage are conceptual and based on preliminary designs, vendor data and/or pilot trials. They are subject to detailed engineering, site selection, utilities capacity, planning and building‑control approvals, landlord consents, health & safety, HACCP/food‑safety requirements, supply‑chain availability, commissioning and staff training.
- Ranges, assumptions & nameplate vs operational. Where we present ranges or illustrative metrics, they reflect assumed operating conditions and cultivars. Actual outcomes can vary due to seed/cultivar selection, seasonality, crop loss, pest/disease pressure, environmental controls, downtime for maintenance or commissioning, learning curves, quality standards, demand variability, logistics constraints and weather/power interruptions. “Nameplate” capacity may exceed achieved throughput.
- Sustainability & nutrition claims. Statements about reductions in food miles, water consumption, pesticide/fertiliser usage, waste, carbon intensity, or nutrient density are indicative and method‑dependent. Baselines, system boundaries and methodologies (e.g., LCA) vary. Figures may be estimates pending third‑party verification and may change following audits, supplier changes or updated measurement. We do not guarantee any certification (for example, SALSA, BRCGS, Red Tractor, LEAF, organic, B Corp) until formally awarded.
- Energy & utilities. References to renewable energy use, PPAs, tariffs or grid decarbonisation are subject to market availability, contract terms and grid constraints, and may change over time.
- Site illustrations & geo‑references. Indications of farm locations, footprints, service radii or catchment areas are illustrative and subject to commercial negotiations, due diligence and regulatory approvals. Radius times/distances are modelled estimates.
- Supply & retail placements. Statements about supply agreements, supermarket listings, volumes or delivery SLAs are non‑binding unless set out in a signed contract.
- No reliance. Do not rely on general Site content (including animations, metrics and roadmap statements) for making personal, operational, financial or investment decisions. Seek independent advice where appropriate.
7A. Forward‑looking statements
The Site may contain forward‑looking statements, including goals, targets, projections, plans or expectations (for example, regarding store openings, smart farms, capacities, yields, sourcing, sustainability or performance). These statements are based on current assumptions and are subject to risks and uncertainties that could cause actual outcomes to differ materially. Except as required by law, we do not undertake to update such statements.
8. Intellectual property
The Site and its content (including text, graphics, 2D/3D animations, video, audio, logos and trade marks such as Saladology®) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may:
- view, temporarily cache and print pages for your personal use; and
- share links to public pages of the Site.
You must not copy, adapt, reverse engineer, extract models, textures, music or code, or use our marks, except with our written permission or as permitted by law. Do not use frame‑linking or scraping.
9. Acceptable use
You must not use the Site:
- in any way that is unlawful, fraudulent or harmful;
- to send or upload anything that is defamatory, obscene, discriminatory, infringing or otherwise objectionable;
- to introduce viruses, malware, bots, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site or our systems;
- to manipulate reviews or endorsements (including posting fake, incentivised or misleading reviews);
- to infringe any third‑party rights.
We may suspend or withdraw access where reasonably necessary (for example, for security, maintenance or misuse).
10. Third‑party services (Calendly, WhatsApp, maps, payments)
Where we embed or link to third‑party services, their own terms and privacy policies apply (for example, Calendly for meeting bookings and WhatsApp for messaging). We are not responsible for third‑party content or availability. If you leave our Site, check the applicable third‑party terms.
11. If we offer online ordering (distance selling)
If and when online ordering is available, this Section will apply in addition to any specific ordering terms shown at checkout.
11.1 Product descriptions, pricing and availability
- We aim to display accurate descriptions, prices and availability. If we discover an error affecting your order, we will contact you and give you the option to continue or cancel.
- Prices include VAT where applicable. Delivery or service fees will be shown before checkout.
11.2 Allergens and dietary requirements
- We provide written allergen information before you order and on delivery/collection paperwork. Always tell us about allergies when ordering and again on collection/delivery. See Section 13.
11.3 Substitutions
- Seasonal or supply constraints may require reasonable substitutions. We will aim to notify you of any material change and offer options.
11.4 Delivery and collection
- Delivery windows are estimates. Risk in the products passes to you on delivery/collection. Please refrigerate/consume according to any instructions provided.
11.5 Cancellations and returns (perishable goods)
- Perishable foods: Many fresh food items are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly. For such items, the usual 14‑day cooling‑off right does not apply once delivered/collected. This does not affect your statutory rights if goods are faulty or not as described.
- Non‑perishable items (if offered): You may cancel within 14 days of delivery. You then have another 14 days to return the item in resaleable condition. We may deduct any diminished value resulting from unnecessary handling.
- Quality issues: Please contact us within a reasonable time (ideally within 24 hours for fresh foods) with your order number and photos so we can investigate and put things right (refund, replacement or credit, as appropriate).
11.6 Refunds
- Refunds are made to your original payment method within a reasonable time after we receive returned goods (if applicable) or confirm a remedy.
12. Promotions, vouchers and gift cards
Promotions and vouchers may have additional terms (e.g., validity dates, geographic or product exclusions). We may refuse a promotion if it has been misused, altered or is otherwise invalid. We do not provide cash alternatives unless required by law.
13. Allergen & food safety information
Food may contain or come into contact with the 14 major allergens. For distance selling (online/phone), we will make written allergen information available before you order and on delivery, and we encourage a conversation with our team. If you have a severe allergy, please contact us before ordering; we cannot guarantee a completely allergen‑free environment.
14. Health, nutrition & wellness
Content on the Site is for general information only and is not medical advice. Consult a healthcare professional for specific dietary or medical guidance.
15. Investment‑related information and gating (no advice)
From time to time we may make available information about our business that could constitute a financial promotion. We will only provide any investment‑related materials to persons who confirm they are eligible (for example, Certified High Net Worth Individuals or Self‑Certified Sophisticated Investors) and after we receive the prescribed statement signed within the previous 12 months. Nothing on the Site is an invitation or offer to the public to buy or subscribe for securities, nor investment advice. Capital at risk; investments may go down as well as up.
16. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable. We do not exclude liability for products not supplied with reasonable care and skill or not as described.
For free access to the Site (i.e., where you are not paying us), and except as set out above, we provide the Site on an "as is" basis and exclude implied warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Reliance on illustrative content. For the avoidance of doubt, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from reliance on conceptual or promotional content on the Site (such as animations, maps or illustrative counts/timelines), unless we have expressly confirmed the relevant matter in writing or we are required to accept liability by law (for example, for misrepresentation or where consumer rights apply).
17. User‑generated content and take‑down
If we enable reviews, comments or uploads, you grant us a non‑exclusive licence to use and display that content in connection with the Site and our business. Do not post unlawful or infringing content or fake/misleading reviews. We may moderate, remove or refuse content that breaches these Terms. To report content, contact us using the details in Section 1.
18. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the Site. However, internet transmission is not completely secure. Please use up‑to‑date antivirus/OS and take care when following links or downloading files.
19. Suspension and termination
We may suspend, withdraw or restrict availability of all or any part of the Site for business and operational reasons, including maintenance, upgrades or misuse. Where reasonable, we will give you notice.
20. Events outside our control
We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform where caused by events outside our reasonable control (for example, extreme weather, supply chain disruption, power or network outages, strikes or government action). We will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect and resume performance as soon as reasonably practicable.
21. Complaints and dispute resolution
We aim to resolve issues quickly. Please contact us first using the details in Section 1. If we cannot resolve a dispute, you may have the right to refer it to an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider. Using ADR does not restrict your court rights.
22. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms, and any non‑contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have non‑exclusive jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
23. General
- If a court finds part of these Terms unlawful, the rest will continue in force.
- We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation. You may only transfer your rights with our consent.
- A failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of that right.
